March Break: How to Keep Yourself Entertained

      Well, it’s finally here! March Break! The time off that every student has been waiting for since the end of Winter Break - but there’s a slight problem: you don’t know what to do! You certainly want to take advantage of this glorious week long holiday and have as much fun as possible.

 

      Well, worry no more: there are so many opportunities that are sure to keep you happy and occupied for the entire week.

 

Here are just a few:

 

1. Make the Most of Winter

 

   The last days of winter are just around the corner! Why not enjoy some more winter fun beforespring comes? Skiing or sledding down Mount Chinguacousy is sure to be a blast!

 

The hill will be open from Monday-Friday, 9:30 am – 6:00 pm.

 

2. Fun at the Library

 

     Going to the library during March Break might have some students rolling their eyes, but trust us when we say the local library has tons of fun-filled activities your local library has planned, you’ll be glad you read this article!

 

Activities include:

  • Babysitting courses

  • Bingo

  • Family movies

6. Still Bored?

3. Looking for some Artsy fun?

 

     A trip to the Art Gallery of Ontario is always enough to satisfy your hunger for fun! And if you’re willing to head out before the March break, The Great Upheaval Exhibit is now on display! Open until March 2nd the exhibit features pieces by some of history’s greatest artists including Picasso, Chagall, Mondrian, Matisse, Modigliani, and Duchamp all from the years 1910 to 1918.

 

      If that’s not quite your style, don’t worry. There’s also a lovely collection of pieces that are on display year-round. Everything from European art and Egyptian antiques to famous Canadian artists including the Group of Seven, Emily Carr, and Paul Peel.

 

     Also, if you’ve got younger siblings or cousins, there are art camp opportunities available. The AGO also has drop in activities such as colouring and crafts daily during the break.

4. Blast from the Past

 

     There are some awesome week-long camps taking place at the ROM! This is a great opportunity to learn while having fun!
