Day 1: Booths

Culturefest kicked off its first day of lunch with three colourful and exciting boothsin the North cafeteria: a classy European booth, a lovely South Asian booth, and a vibrant African and Middle Eastern booth. All of the booths were serving some yummy treats at great prices, like brownies, cupcakes, cookies at the European booth and samosas at the South Asian booth.

But what would the booths be without their magnificent banners! Each banner was wonderfully crafted and encompassed the essence of the region they represented.

Day 2: Booths

The second day of Culturefest was equally as impressive as the first. This time,North cafeteria featured booths for the Pacific Rim, North American, West Indies and South American pavilions. The Pacific Rim booth featured some lovely cultural outfits in eye-catching colours, while the North American booth was decorated with Classic Hollywood posters and some vintage records. The West Indies and South American booth displayed various flags from the region and served thirst-quenching coconut water! And once again, the banners were absolutely breathtaking! It is obvious that a lot of time and effort was put into crafting these masterpieces. Not to mention, the cultural snacks were also delicious as usual!

Food

While the treats in North caf were delectable, the main courses served in South cafwere to die for! Students were able to purchase mouth-watering dishes traditionally served all around the world. Some of our favourites out of the wide selection of global delicacies included the Hungarian Shortcake and Penne Bolegnese from Europe, and the Baklava and Jollof rice from Africa and the Middle East.

We weren’t the only ones enjoying the food! One student said, “It’s nice to see the cafeteria getting into the mood of Culturefest by offering food from different cultures for us to try.” Another student commented on the baklava, saying that, just like us, she loved it.
